Conventionally,mineraloilorasyntheticoilsuchasalkylbenzenehasbeenusedforR22refrigeratingmachine
oil.BecauseofthepoorcompatibilitybetweenR410Aandconventionaloilslikemineraloil,however,thereisa
tendencyfortherefrigeratingmachineoiltocollectintherefrigeratingcycle.Forthisreason,polyesterand
othersyntheticoilswhichhaveahighcompatibilitywithR410Aareusedasrefrigeratingmachineoil.
Becauseofthehighhygroscopicpropertyofsyntheticoil,morecaremustbetakeninitshandlingthanwas
necessarywithconventionalrefrigeratingmachineoils.Also,thesesyntheticoilswilldegradeifmixedwith
mineraloiloralkylbenzene,causingcloggingincapillarytubesorcompressormalfunction.Donotmixthem
underanycircumstances.
10.1.2 SafetyMeasureWhenInstalling/ReceivingRefrigerantPiping
CausethegaspressureofR410Aisapproximately1.6timesashighasthatofR22,amistakeininstallationor
servicingcouldresultinamajoraccident.ItisessentialthatyouuseR410atoolsandmaterials,andthatyou
observethefollowingprecautionstoensuresafety.
DonotuseanyrefrigerantotherthanR410AinAcsthathavebeenusedwithR410A.
Ifanyrefrigerantgasleakswhileyouareworking,ventilatetheroom.Toxicgasmaybegeneratedifrefrigerant
gasisexposedtoadirectflame.
WheninstallingortransferringanAC,donotallowanyairorsubstanceotherthanR410Atomixintothe
refrigerationcycle.Ifitdoes,thepressureintherefrigerationcyclecanbecomeabnormallyhigh,possibly
causinganexplosionand/orinjury.
Afterfinishingtheinstallation,checktomakesurethereisnorefrigerantgasleaking.
WheninstallingortransferringanAC,followtheinstructionsintheinstallationinstructionscarefully.Incorrect
installationcanresultinanabnormalrefrigerationcycleorwaterleakage,electricshock,fire,etc.
DonotperformanyalterationsontheACunitunderanycircumstances.Haveallrepairworkdonebyaspecialist.

valveserviceportontheoutdoorunithasbeenchanged.Also,toincreaseitsabilitytowithstandpressure,the
opposingdimensionshavebeenchangedfortherefrigerantpipeflaringsizeandflarenut.Accordingly,when
installingorservicingrefrigerantpiping,youmusthaveboththeR410Aandordinarytoolslistedbelow.
