Adjust the angular field of view in accordance with the distance between the camera lens and a

photographic subject.

Zoom lock knob

Auto focus (AF) button

q Loosen the zoom lock knob and move the knob between TELE and WIDE to obtain the appro-

priate angle of view.

Note:

 • Thefocusmaynotbeadjustedappropriatelywhenthezoomringispositionedatthe"W"(or

"T") end. In this case, adjust the focus again by slightly moving the zoom ring to the direction of

"T" (or "W").

w Tighten the zoom lock knob.

e When the auto focus (AF) button on the lateral side of camera is pressed, the auto focus (AF)

indicator will light for around 10 seconds, and the focus is automatically adjusted.

Important:

 • Donotmovethefocusring.

Note:

 • Ifthezoomringisfullyrotatedinthe"W"direction,theperipherymaybecomedark.Insucha

case, rotate the zoom ring in the "T" direction for readjustment.

 • Ifthezoomlockknobisslightlytightenedbeforethezoomringismoved,theringwillbecome

stable to ease the fine adjustment.

 • When shooting in the following place or the following subjects, focus may not be adjusted

automatically. In this case, adjust the focus manually from the setup menu. Refer to the

Operating Instructions (PDF) for how to perform the manual focus adjustment from the setup

menu.
